GS1 Malaysia


The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) is a member of GS1 which is an international body that develops and promotes the GS1 standards of article numbering, bar coding and electronic communication worldwide. GS1 Malaysia was formed under the aegis of FMM to manage and develop the GS1 standards in Malaysia.

The GS1 System was introduced in Malaysia in July 1988. The subscriber of GS1 System under GS1 Malaysia comprised of manufacturers, distributors, traders, wholesalers, retailers, statutory bodies, IT suppliers and systems providers.

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Infrastructure Readiness Survey


The Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia (SKMM) is conducting a nationwide survey on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Infrastructure Readiness for Manufacturing, IT Services, Postal Courier, Transportation & Logistics Services. FMM has been invited to work together with SKMM to assess the state of readiness within the FMM and GS1 members and manufacturers in general.
