EU Regulation on Food Information to Consumers

The European Union published a new regulation regarding food information which took effect in December 2014. The goal of this regulation is to ensure that consumers can make informed purchases having access to information about the food such as nutritional value, ingredients and instructions for use. The regulation also sets out new requirements with regard to the information that should be provided to the consumer for food that is sold online.

GS1 in Europe developed a series of documents that addressed both user companies and GS1 member organisations that will help all stakeholders to be better informed on the regulation.
