Services and Activities of GS1 Malaysia

FMM is the designated national organisation to promote and manage the GS1 System of standard product numbering and bar coding in Malaysia. The GS1 System is used by more than 100 countries worldwide.

• Allocation of GS1 GTIN, GLN and Coupon numbers
  
  
• Promotion of the GS1 standards on product numbering and bar coding
  
  
• Technical advice on scanning and production of the GS1 bar codes on products
  
  
• Publication and dissemination of information on the development of bar code technology
  
  
• Conduct workshops and seminars on the GS1 system
  
  
• Promotion of standardisation messages for electronic communication and commerce
  
  
• Facilitation of supply chain management processes and application
  
  
• Close liaison with GS1 numbering organisations in other countries on the development of standard product numbering and bar coding
